Silver DofE Pembrokeshire

where to go for silver

Practice expeditions will normally be run within a couple of hours of your location. We have used the New Forest and edges of the Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as having some suitable Silver routes in the Elan Valley for a more remote experience.
Our personal favourite area is North Pembrokeshire, which features a great variety of terrain, quiet campsites and stunning sea views.

The Silver DofE expeditions were a great experience for all involved, added to by the knowledgeable staff, who shared their enthusiasm for the outdoors.

frequently asked questions

Do you do any Silver expeditions other than walking
Yes, we can offer Horseback and Cycling expeditions for Silver groups. Open Silver horseback expeditions are also available for keen, experienced horse riders.
We are entirely land based, so do not offer any water based expeditions.
Cycling groups will need their own bikes, though we can hire trailers at cost.
What equipment do you provide?
We provide all the group equipment. This includes high quality tents, stoves, fuel, maps compasses and emergency equipment.
We even have our own specialised maps for some areas.
What is the minimum number for Silver
The suggested minimum number for a Silver group package including the training weekend is 10.
Smaller numbers can be accommodated through other flexible options. Please discuss these with Aled Davies.
I'd like to know more about the Pembrokeshire trips, seems a long way?
All the Silver expeditions in Pembrokeshire have a travel and arrival day built in before the expedition. You camp overnight at a friendly, yet stunning campsite overlooking the sea. It’s a site some of us have used for over 20 years and still love going back to. The routes can include some coastal walks, hidden wooded valleys and almost a step back in time. We have spent time finding quiet camping spots that few others have discovered, all fitting into a variety of routes that inspire all groups who visit.
